My New Favorite Highlighters

My makeup is not complete without a highlight. I like to glow, and I like to glow hard (lol).

Out of my entire makeup collection, I probably have more highlighters than any other type of makeup. You can never have too many. I love all highlighters. Natural shades, colorful shades, color shifting, glitter, strobe, liquid, powder, etc.

I am going to be reviewing three of my favorite highlighters that I have recently purchased.

1) Dior: Diorskin Nude Luminizer Shimmering Glow Powder- Shade 05 - Rose Glow

These caught my eye immediately in the store. There are 6 gorgeous shades, definite to flatter all skin tones. I chose the shade 05, it’s a rose gold shade, described as a warm pink iridescent sheen. I have so many gold/nudes, I wanted to try something a bit different.

These retail for $48, and they are made in Italy. The packaging is super sleek, and comes in a beautiful velvet pouch. Click here to check these out on Sephora.com

Sephora’s description, “Diorskin Nude Luminizer Shimmering Glow Powder lights up the complexion with an iridescent sheen and gives the face a multidimensional glow. Its high concentration of shimmering pigments sculpts the face and revives the complexion with radiance.”

I spray my face beforehand with a setting spray, and let dry for about 20 seconds for a wet look. WOW, just wow. For a more natural glow, refrain from spraying your brush or face first. The multidimensional rose gold is a total showstopper. You can achieve a glow from within look with this baby for sure. It doesn’t bring out any texture in my face. It’s also finely milled, for an easy application.

2) Pat McGrath: Sublime Skin Highlighting Trio

This is a playful trio! Retailing for $50, this is a definite “treat yo-self” item. Check out the trio here.

The colors are out of this world! They all have a color shift. These are fun shades, and you can wear them everyday, or for a night out. They are build-able, and so beautiful. See below for a YouTube swatch I posted!

Sephora’s description, ”A trio of pearl-infused, gel-powder highlighters that create a resplendent range of multidimensional effects. A futuristic trio of pigments flows across the skin, mimicking the reflection of light with glittering shine, ethereal luminosity, and metallic brilliance.”

The shades: Iridescent Pink 003 (opalescent pale rose), Fine Gold 003 (glittering yellow gold), Bronze Nectar 003 (gleaming soft copper).

I am going to be honest. For $50, the product is not packaged well. The first one I ordered was broken upon delivery. The highlighters never shatter, but they separate/detach from the base. They don’t seem to be pressed well enough.

I wouldn’t let this deter you from purchasing this, but be weary of traveling with this palette. If you drop it once, I am almost sure it will detach. Because I threw it on my counter top, and my second replacement palette detached.

3) Stila: Heaven’s Dew All Over Glimmer - Silverlake

Have you seen the new Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil? Yeah, don’t buy that. Purchase this instead. Fenty’s Veil retails for $38. Stila’s Heaven’s Dew retails for $25, and it’s the exact same product. My girlfriend that works at Sephora let me in on this little secret, and I am so that glad she did. I saved $13, and it’s a perfect dupe.

This is an unreal highlighter. I wear it as a glitter topper. It’s silver, and super reflective. You can use this all over your body. As an eye-shadow/lip topper, the obvious highlight, or throw some on your decolletage for a night out. It’s a multi-purpose product. I love the way it looks over any highlighter for that added silver sparkle. You will achieve a wet, dewy look with this.

It’s a rather small highlighter, but it will last a long time. You only need a little bit of product. I just use my fingers or a wet brush for application. This would definitely pop on a fair skin tone, given the silver. It has a jelly-like consistency, but this is not a gel. I have experienced no fallout with this product.

So hard to pick up this product on my camera, but you get the idea.
